Rishi BhandariI have lived in Bracknell Forest for 17 years. I am married with two children, our 17-year-old son and 13 year old daughter. My husband Ankur Shiv Bhandari has served the Borough of Bracknell Forest as a councillor and over the past year as The Mayor so I have learned much about public service. The past year also provided me with an opportunity to interact more closely with the residents of our borough and to also support local causes in my role as Mayoress. I now wish to take my service to the community to the next level and play a more active role in addressing your needs and challenges. Hence, I am putting my name forward to be your councillor. I believe in open communication and feel that wider communities in our ward and the borough will be able to relate to me. My strong work ethic, attention to detail and the desire to be the strong voice of our residents will allow me to discharge my duties as a councillor in a robust way. I ask for your support so that I can serve you and the community in ensuring Bracknell Forest remains a great place to live and work. |
Cllr Paul ByronI have lived in Bracknell since 1965 when my father’s company relocated here. I was schooled in Bracknell, and went to local colleges, this has given me a much better understanding of what living in this area has to offer. I have witnessed the evolution of this great town over the last 58 years and the total commitment of our Town, Parish, and Borough councils in making this a wonderful area to live, work and bring up a family. I am married with 2 children, 2 step children and 3 grand children. I was elected as a town councillor in 2019 and have gained a lot of experience serving and helping the constituents in my ward. I have served on several committees during my 4-year tenure, and I’m now looking forward, with your support, to many more years serving the residents of this ward. I have chosen to stand as a borough councillor at this election as well as town, which requires a massive commitment. Serving a larger ward and constituents will be an honour which I am very excited to have been selected for. I have been a member of the congregation at Holy Trinity Church, Bracknell and I serve on the PCC. I also help and support many charities including both the British Red Cross and Christian Aid as a volunteer involved in fund raising. I run a local electrical engineering company based in Windsor employing local people. Other interests are wildlife protection, geology, walking, sailing and watching cricket. |
Kiran MekaMy name is Kiran Meka. I am a Senior Researcher and a Public Policy Associate at a well renowned university. Seven years ago, I decided to move to Bracknell from London, buying a brand new flat. I moved here due to the affordability, number of green spaces, cycle paths and the town undergoing significant regeneration. As many families settled in this new community, I got involved in the issues that arose due to a developer not performing to the required standards. I am current-ly in a voluntary position as a management company director. In February 2019, I spearheaded a contentious planning issue on many grounds. I worked with officers, communities, and cross-party political groups. In August 2020, we won the appeal and stopped the development. I joined the Conservative Party to seek election to the council as my work on the planning issue gave me a new sense of direction. I wholeheartedly support the Council's Climate Change Strategy and will work towards the successful implementation across all stakeholders. I am now a candidate for the Bracknell Forest Council and Bracknell Town, and I ask you to trust me to represent this community. I will be a champion for all your issues and work tirelessly to listen, perform and deliver with the utmost sincerity, honesty and integrity. |
