The major highway schemes at Coral Reef junction, Martins Heron junction, Hanworth roundabout and Golden Retriever junction are benefiting residents and tens of thousands of road users daily as journey times are more consistent, capacity is increased and air quality is improved.
Road safety has also improved: the evaluation report on the Golden Retriever/Hanworth roundabout scheme shows fatal and injury accidents reduced to zero since implementation of the scheme. While this is a pleasing position to have reached, it is important not to be complacent about road safety.
All the highway schemes were the result of substantial external funding, and feedback in the form of evaluation reports is required to the bodies who provided the funding.
