Cllr Sandra Ingham, borough councillor for Warfield Harvest Ride, met Police and Crime Commissioner Matthew Barber this afternoon.
Matthew Barber promotes a £100,000 fund to support community groups who help keep communities safe. Money from the scheme comes from the sale of stolen goods that cannot be returned to their rightful owners.
"This is a perfect opportunity for organisations like Pilgrim Hearts," said Cllr Sandra Ingham. For the past 21 years Pilgrim Hearts have helped rough sleepers to get going again, to earn a living and pay taxes. Although their Night Shelter will not run again this winter, Pilgrim Hearts keep their drop-in centres open and have a free advice line on their website.
Applications to the Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner's Fund need to be in by 3rd October:
