Nick AllenI have lived in College Town for over 30 years with my wife and two children, both of which attended College Town Schools where I have also served as a Governor. I was elected to Bracknell Forest Council in May 2011 and have served the residents of College Town ever since. I serve on numerous committees covering areas such as Health & Care, Education, Skills & Growth, Environment and Communities, Employment, Licencing & Safety and Governance & Audit, the latter of which I chair. I am acutely aware that the first priority of a Councillor is to serve the residents of the ward we represent. One of the reasons that I serve on such a wide range of committees is to get a deep understanding of how the Council works in these areas, so that I can provide a speedy resolution to resident’s issues. Bracknell Forest is one of the top local authorities in the country and was awarded Council of the Year in 2018. The Council is continually transforming the way it provides its services in order to maintain the level of service it provides to residents whilst the grant from the Government is reduced each year. Despite this, our Council Tax is still one of the lowest of any Unitary Authority in the country. This has been achieved through a combination of prudent financial management and the ability to find more innovative ways of providing services and has been done without the need to resort to cutting services on a scale seen in other parts of the country. I will work hard to ensure that Bracknell Forest further enhances the services it provides to the residents of Owlsmoor and College Town, and represent the ward to the best of my ability. |
John EdwardsI am proud to have lived in the Sandhurst area my entire life, attending both Owlsmoor Primary School and Sandhurst Secondary School. I am a small business owner, and I understand the importance of supporting local businesses, especially given the pressures they face. I am married with a young family living on College Road, which makes me acutely aware of the importance of providing children's facilities and maintaining local schools to a good or outstanding level. I actively reach out to residents, local businesses, and community groups, such as Sandhurst Town B&G FC, the cricket club, the allotments, the scouts, and others. As your councillor, I understand the local issues and I am dedicated to serving the community. I am driven to make a positive difference in our area, and I am passionate about staying connected with you and hearing your thoughts on the issues that matter most. |
Ray MossomI have lived within the Bracknell Forest area since 1986. I have been happily single for many years enjoying life. I have operated my own events & entertainment business for the last 28 years around the local area providing fun for people of all ages including the Summer of Fun days held in Great Hollands and elsewhere within the borough having previously worked for many years for a UK supermarket organisation. I strongly believe in putting back into the local community and over the last 15 years have been a Governor at the Royal Surrey Hospital as well as being a Governor at a primary school where I became Co-Chair in the last twelve months in the role and was instrumental as a Councillor in getting a 20mph traffic zone installed outside the school. I have also supported a Boys & Girls football tournament for many years donating funds which are used to do testing on children through the Cardiac Research in the Young organisation to detect heart defects in children. I have been a Councillor in Sandhurst which was my first experience of local politics I now wish to use my experience to benefit the residents of Great Hollands. I truly believe I still have more to offer which is why I’m now standing as a Borough Council candidate in the Great Hollands ward where I will be focused on trying to improve the environment, supporting the need for more sport and leisure activities and of course trying to sort out parking issues. |
