Paul BettisonI have been your Borough Councillor for 31 years; in which time we have seen many changes. Change brings fresh challenges, and I always try to represent the best interests of all our residents. I will always strongly oppose overdevelopment, whilst supporting schemes that enable our own children to get their first home. I am very proud of our schools. We have achieved our promise to make every school in the Borough a good school, or better, as rated by Ofsted, and we will work hard to maintain this pledge. In Bracknell Forest there isn ot a single school that I would not have sent my own children to, and our ward is served particularly well. I would like to thank our headteachers, staff, and governors for their dedication to our young people. Our leisure services remain the envy of all. Our environment is better maintained than any of our near neighbours. Now that the Lexicon is open, and work is soon to start on The Deck, we will really have a town centre worthy of our Borough. Our Council Tax has been consistently one of the lowest in England and is a matter of considerable personal pride. I firmly believe that you rightly demand good value from your local authority. I am happy and proud to say that all indicators clearly show that this is exactly what you are getting, and I remain committed to delivering sound value for money services. I love this area dearly. That is why my wife, Jean, and I chose to bring up our children here. My promise to you is to keep this area one in which people choose to live, with opportunity for all to achieve their full potential in an environment which is safe, pleasant, and a joy to live in. |
Dale BirchDue to the Boundary Commission our borough council ward layout has changed. The new borough council ward called Sandhurst has joined Little Sandhurst with Central Sandhurst. I have lived and raised my family in Sandhurst for over 40 years and been a councillor for the majority of that time. At the borough council I am responsible for Adult Social Care, Health, and Housing. As a result of the pandemic, there have been many changes in our health and care services and I am committed to ensuring the council remains focused on our vulnerable residents. Likewise, I will properly prioritise how we deal with climate change in a sustainable way. What we need now is experience. With your support I will use my experience to plan for, and deliver, the services that will be needed to ensure we remain a great place to live whilst always keeping a tight hold on council finances. I believe we need a Neighbourhood Plan for Sandhurst that will add strength to the borough’s new Local Plan to further protect our heritage, green spaces, and employment areas. I worked with residents to get the Bloor Homes application for 150 houses refused. I will continue to support the things that are important to our community like keeping our leisure facilities, parks and open spaces well maintained, improving the drive for net zero, caring for our most vulnerable and supporting our high achieving schools. I am a school governor at St Michael’s School and also a Sandhurst Town Councillor. In my spare time, I like to keep fit and raise money for good causes. |
Parm PanesarI moved to Sandhurst in 2012 with my family. Over the years, I have supported the local schools by participating in the Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) and serving as a governor. As my children have grown older, I have continued to engage with their schools, clubs and activities. I am also a successful local businessman. My business has become a popular community hub, providing a platform for residents to discuss and address local issues. Through my business, I have also established positive relationships with the clubs and societies that utilise the park. Prior to starting my business, I was a specialist Information and Communication Technology (ICT) teacher. I believe my skill set, experience and local knowledge make me a strong candidate for borough Councillor. As a former ICT teacher, I have experience in education and understand the needs of local schools and families. My business background and position as a Sandhurst Town Councillor has provided me with skills in communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement. That I wish to take to the next level. If elected as a borough Councillor, I would draw on my experience and knowledge to represent the needs and interests of the residents of Sandhurst. I am committed to ensuring that the community remains a safe, welcoming, and thriving place to live, work, and raise a family. |
