Airspace redesign work moves forward

Work continues slowly on redesign of Heathrow’s airspace, last carried out in the 1960s. LHR is responsible for its flightpaths up to 7000ft.

Under a process known as CAP1616, this has reached stage 2 (of 6).

Use of bus services continues to rise post-Covid

Local bus services are seeing revised timetables. This is in response to changes in demand, and continuing staffing issues. Locally, across supported bus services, patronage is approximately 90 per cent of pre-Covid levels for fare-paying journeys, but lower for concessionary pass-holders.

SANG Visitors

Automatic counters have been installed at green spaces (SANGs) in the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area  (SPA) to count visitors. This was previously done by wardens with hand-held counters.

New EV Charging Points

More EV charging points are being installed at local shops and other locations in Bracknell Forest. The list of sites is:

Bay Road – 2 sockets

Bywood shops – 2 sockets

Crossfell (adjacent to Wildridings shops) – 2 sockets

Crown Wood shops – 4 sockets

Warfield Neighbourhood Plan Adopted

The referendum for the Warfield Neighbourhood Plan took place on 17 November 2022, with a comfortable Yes vote. This is the fourth plan in Bracknell Forest to go successfully to referendum. Significantly, it is the first to include a development site of its own, in Hayley Green.

The Bracknell Forest Local Plan was submitted to the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities on 20 December 2021.
